Our shipping philosophy
At Gnomish Bazaar, we want to keep our shipping just as affordable as our miniature and paint prices. And, of course, the best shipping is free. But, one of the things about selling a $4 bottle of paint, for example, is that you can't offer free shipping on the paint by itself, unless you want to charge $10 for it. And sure, some online stores do it that way. But what if someone wants to buy two bottles at once? Or three? Or ten? Suddenly those $4 bottles of paint for $10 with "free" shipping don't look like very good deals.
We think we have a better way:
$7.49 Flat-rate Economy shipping
We charge just $7.49 for flat-rate shipping to any U.S. address. We ship via USPS Ground Advantage, UPS Ground Saver, and FedEx Ground Economy (we decide based on size and destination). Shipments usually take 2-6* business days to arrive, depending in part on the shipping method and how far the shipping address is from Northern California.
FREE shipping for $99+ orders
We offer free shipping on orders of $99 or more, before tax and excluding gift card purchases. We select the shipping method for free shipping (USPS, UPS, or FedEx). Orders generally arrive in 2-6* business days, depending in part on the shipping method and how far the shipping address is from Northern California.
We ship quickly
We work hard to get your order out as soon as possible. Although we can't guarantee that we'll ship your order in a certain amount of time, we strive to ship all orders that we receive within 1 business day, except for orders that contain preorder items. In most cases, orders made before noon Pacific Time on a business day get shipped the same day!
More than 99% of all in-stock orders we've ever received have shipped within one business day. If, for some reason, we can't ship your order in this time frame, we'll let you know.
On a deadline?
If you need your order to arrive quickly, we offer expedited shipping via USPS, UPS, and FedEx.
For UPS, we offer UPS Ground, UPS 3-Day Select, and UPS 2nd-Day Air shipping to the contiguous 48 states. UPS Ground isn't considered "expedited," but it might actually have a quicker estimated delivery time than some expedited options if you're close to Northern California. Please note, UPS delivers more than 95% of packages on time, but they don't provide a delivery date guarantee for these services and your order could arrive later than estimated.
We offer FedEx 2Day shipping as well, which generally arrives in 2-3 business days. As with UPS, FedEx doesn't provide a delivery guarantee and orders can arrive later than estimated.
We also offer USPS Priority Mail shipping, which generally arrives in 2-3 business days. It's more likely to arrive late than UPS or FedEx, but is the only expedited option that can go to PO boxes. USPS shipments arrive on time about 90% of the time, but delays are especially likely during disasters, holidays, and other major events.
Shipping fees for Priority Mail, FedEx, and UPS shipping are not refunded on returns.
Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Territories, and APO/FPO addresses
We ship to all of these locations and offer the same $7.49 Flat Rate option, with free shipping on $99+ orders. However, the shipping service we use, USPS Ground Advantage, can be slow to these locations. It's typically estimated to take 3-5 business days but can sometimes take 14 business days (or even longer for APO/FPO addresses), because USPS is allowed to route the packages by sea, and we have no way of knowing if they will until after we ship. If you need your order quickly, consider upgrading the shipping to USPS Priority Mail, which always goes by air.
Addresses without USPS mail service
If you'd like us to ship to an address that doesn't have USPS mail service, please contact us before placing the order so we can check whether any Economy shipping options exist for your address. In some cases, you might need to choose UPS Ground at checkout, as Economy shipping won't be an option.
*Potential delivery delays
Transit delays do sometimes occur and orders can take longer than expected to arrive. We can't guarantee you'll receive your order by a particular date, but if you're concerned your order has gotten lost in transit, please contact us.
